Position Overview: The Clinical Laboratory Manager is responsible for the daily administrative and operational responsibilities of the Clinical Pathology Laboratory and for the efficient operation, productivity and performance improvement of the laboratory. This is a working manager position which supervises technical staff performing a variety of standard and specialized diagnostic tests, oversees quality assurance program, develops and monitors laboratory policies and procedures, maintains equipment and contracts and performs complex clinical laboratory tests used in screening, diagnosing, and treating animal diseases.
The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional emergency response on evenings and weekends. Competitive salary and benefits package including paid vacation, sick leave and holidays; and retirement and health insurance benefits offered by the State of Washington.

Required Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent field applicable to the laboratory division AND certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent, or certification with specialty organization appropriate to the laboratory division AND four years of progressively responsible clinical technologist experience to include two years in a lead capacity.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or an equivalent field AND two additional years of lead experience may substitute for the Master’s Degree.

Additional Qualifications:
One year laboratory management experience.
One year supervisory experience
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong background in quality control and computer skills.
Experience engaging employees in the workplace through collaboration, accountability, integrity and respect.
