Job Overview


The Lead Physician of Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) reports to the Executive Director (ED) of SHCS and is responsible for the clinical oversight and supervision of all programs and activities related to providing high quality health services to students. This includes assessment of student health and wellness care needs, development of programs, policies, and procedures. The Lead Physician leads and supervises the clinical work of all medical providers, which include physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrist, pharmacist, and other medical personnel in SHCS while maintaining physician patient load to meet student needs. The Lead Physician aids ED in providing feedback and performance evaluation to the medical providers that are under ED's administrative supervision. The Lead Physician serves as the university public health officer, providing medical and public health guidance to the entire campus community, participates in campus programming and events, and serves on SHCS and campus committees to serve the students and the campus community to promote health and wellbeing of the campus members.


Position Summary


Lead Physician (Physician 12/12 pay plan)


This is a full time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.


This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $12,515 - $17,500 per month


CSU Classification Salary Range: $12,515 - $21,255 per month
